"Bending Under the Word - How to be Studied by Scripture" by Mark Driscoll

This is the first sermon I have ever listened to by Mark Driscoll, who I understand is somewhat controversial. Mark is the pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle. His style is different than most of what I listen to--a little funnier.

That said, his topic is very, very important. How should we approach reading Scripture? We must interpret the Bible from within the context of a church. We must kneel under its authority, not stand on it. We must read it intending and expecting to be transformed. We must read the Bible more relationally than functionally--we want to know the God who is speaking more than we want to know what He says about having happy marriages.

And that's how Pastor Driscoll gets started. In this 76-minute sermon (that's right--never complain again!), he gives us point after point of strategy and caveats for reading and studying Scripture.

I recommend this sermon highly.
